Errata: Creating a
Database in FileMaker Pro 8.5: Visual QuickProject
Peachpit Press,
2007
Page Error 36 In Step 1, change the end of
the first sentence from "stock-related fields." to
"stock-related field labels." 39 In Step 1, change the end of
the first sentence from "savings bond fields." to "savings
bond field labels." 66 Last paragraph,
change: "and the currency format to Dividend and
Interest." to "and the currency format to Deposit and
Withdrawal." 93 Any time you switch page
orientations (when creating/editing layouts, entering data,
or generating a report), the orientation (landscape or
portrait) remains in effect until you manually choose
another orientation in the Page Setup dialog box or until a
script executes that contains a Print Setup step that sets a
new orientation. After you finish creating the Stock Report
layout, you should choose File > Page Setup and
reset the orientation to portrait.
Resizing Multiple
Selected Fields, Labels, or Other Objects You can resize fields or
field labels by dragging an edge or by entering numbers in
the Size windoid. However, if you try to resize
multiple selected fields or labels at the same time,
you may get unexpected results if the items are different
sizes. (Resizing works beautifully if all selected items
are the same size.) For instance, supposed
you've selected three fields: two 2" long and one 1" long.
If you set Width by entering 1" in the Size windoid (or drag
one of the longer fields to a width of 1"), the two longest
fields will become 1" long and the smallest will become 1/2"
long. Thus, if you're uncertain
whether all selected objects are identical in size, the
safest approach is to resize them one at a time.
