Errata: FileMaker Pro 5 Bible
IDG Books, 1999

Using the files in the FileMaker Pro Bible folder on the CD (Windows users only)
When creating the Windows partition of the FileMaker Pro 5 Bible CD, the examples in the FileMaker Pro 5 Bible folder were inadvertently stored loose in subfolders, rather than as ZIP archives. Because a CD is write-protected/locked, when you simply copy files from the CD to your PC's hard disk, the copies remain locked.

To unlock each of the copies, right-click the copy on your hard disk and choose Properties from the pop-up menu that appears. Remove the checkmark from "Read Only." That will unlock the file and allow you to use it normally in FileMaker Pro 5.

Figure Callout Errors
An unacceptable number of the figure callouts were incorrect. (Apparently, whoever added them had a hard time reading my handwriting. For instance, "Status area control" became "Status pica control.") Whenever you see a discrepancy between a callout and the body text, assume that the body text is correct.
